Rock Report:

The Rock are coming off a 17-9 win over the Vancouver Stealth last week. The win came with a hefty price tag attached, as leading scorer Garrett Billings left the game with a knee injury in the second quarter and did not return. Billings had 6 assists before going down with injury, bringing his point total to 101 on the season, the third straight season in which he has surpassed the 100-point plateau. Rob Hellyer led the way offensively for the Rock with 3G-9A-12PTS, a career best to date.

Brandon Miller, who was acquired at the trade deadline picked up his first win in a Rock uniform. With the win, the Rock improved to 6-9 on the season and can clinch a playoff berth with a win against the Philadelphia Wings on Saturday. The Wings, are currently one game back in the East Division with a record of 5-10. After the game it was announced that Garrett Billings had suffered a torn ACL and will be done for the remainder of the 2014 season.

Rock Fact:

The Rock and Wings have played two times this season with the home team winning both matchups. The Rock beat the Wings by a score of 20-10 on February 7th. The Wings picked up the win in Philadelphia 14-13 on March 22nd.

 

Philadelphia Wings:

The Wings have won two of their last 3 games including a 14-13 win over Toronto at the Wells Fargo Center on March 22nd. They then went on to beat the Mammoth 14-12 in Colorado on March 29th and are coming off a 13-9 loss to the Calgary Roughnecks last weekend.

Offence:

Jordan Hall and Kyle Buchanan are tied for the team lead in points at 61.  Hall has played two less games and leads the team in goals at 27, while Buchanan leads the team in assists with 43. Veterans Tracey Kelusky, Ryan Ward, Kevin Crowley and Pat Saunders round out the offence for the Wings.

Defence:

Brodie Merrill anchors the Wings defence and leads the team in PIMS (27) and loose balls (166). C.J Costabile and Joel White are also key components to Philadelphia’s defence.

Between The Pipes:

Evan Kirk has played the majority of minutes for the Wings this year with a record of 5-7. Kirk has a GAA of 11.72 and a save percentage of .761.

Who To Watch:

Kevin Crowley had 6G-3A-9PTS when the two teams met on March 22nd in Philadelphia. Jordan Hall will play his first game in Toronto this season. Hall was not in the lineup on February 7th when the Rock won 20-10.
