Josh Sanderson Placed On Active Roster – Evaluation Period List

February 2, 2016

JOSH SANDERSON PLACED ON ACTIVE ROSTER – EVALUATION PERIOD LIST

Legendary Forward Will Test Things Over Next Two Practices

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President and GM Jamie Dawick has announced that forward Josh Sanderson has been moved to the active roster – evaluation period list, from the physically unable to perform list.  This move allows Sanderson to participate in the next two Rock practices, the first of which is tonight.

Following the evaluation period, the Rock will have to determine whether or not Sanderson is ready to play and will have the option to add him to the active roster.  If Sanderson were not added to the active roster at the conclusion of the evaluation period, he would be released as per league rules.  A player on the evaluation period list does not count towards the Rock’s 20-man roster limit.

“When Josh stepped away, I told him to give me a call if and when he was ready to come back and play.  That call came this week, he said he was ready to play and told him I would see him at practice on Tuesday,” said Dawick.

Sanderson has not been with the team this season and Tuesday night’s practice will be his first time back around his teammates.  At the beginning of Rock training camp, Sanderson felt he was not in good enough shape physically to contribute and would step away to contemplate his future.

The Toronto Rock are off this weekend but will return to play on Sunday, February 14th in New England against the East Division leading Black Wolves.
