TORONTO ROCK ACQUIRE TWO DEFENDERS

TORONTO – The Toronto Rock acquired two defenders, Mike Hobbins and Nick Carson this week. Terms of the deals were not disclosed due to club policy.

Former Chicago Shamrox defender, Mike Hobbins was signed as a free agent this week pending league approval. 

Hobbins, a Peterborough native, enters his third season in the NLL after playing in Chicago for the 2007 and 2008 seasons.  He played in 14 games in 2008 for the Shamrox, tallied 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists) and collected 41 looseballs.

Whitby native and an MLL Peterborough Lakers defender, Nick Carson was also signed by the Rock pending league approval.  Carson joins the Rock roster for his first year in the NLL.

Jon Harasym was released from the Rock roster earlier this week.  Harasym, acquired by the Rock in the 2007 NLL Dispersal Draft (3rd round, 30th overall) played in nine games for Toronto during the 2008 season.
