TORONTO ROCK HOST BOSTON BLAZERS TOMORROW

TORONTO – The Toronto Rock play host to the Boston Blazers this Friday, April 3rd at the Air Canada Centre.  Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Rock (5-8) return home after a 1-1 record on the road last weekend. The Rock shut down the first place team in the West, the Calgary Roughnecks by a score of 12-10 on Friday March 27th.  Lewis Ratcliff was named Most Valuable Player of the game for a five goal performance against his former team, his second five-goal game in as many outings.

The back end of the two-game road weekend found Toronto outplayed by a determined Edmonton Rush. The Rock fell 16-10 in the decision and was led by Luke Wiles who netted three goals and assisted on two others.  

With just three games left in the regular season for the Rock, winning every game is crucial to secure their post-season future.
“We have been playing ‘Game 7’ lacrosse and there will be no difference this weekend,” said Toronto Rock head coach Jamie Batley. “With wins we’re in serious consideration for playoffs.”

The Boston Blazers (7-5) look to recover from an 11-10 loss at the hands of the Rochester Knighthawks last Saturday. Dan Dawson leads the Blazers with 80 points from 24 goals and 56 assists.

In the Rock and Boston’s first meeting on March 14th 2009 in Boston, the Rock narrowly snuck past the Blazers 9-8 off an overtime goal by defender Scott Campbell to take the game.

“Toronto played tough and wanted it more than us,” said Blazers head coach Tom Ryan. “Bob Watson had his best game all season against us, and their defence played really strong.”
