POSITION: Manager Technology & Web Design
LOCATION: Toronto Rock Athletic Centre, 1132 Invicta Drive, Oakville, ON
HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday + some weekends and holidays required

The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club is looking for a motivated individual to fill a Manager of Technology & Web Design role who is responsible for the management, strategy and execution of technology & telecommunications infrastructure and the design and administration of all enterprise web pages and sites.



  • Proven work experience as an Information Technology Manager or similar role
  • Highly computer literate
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware systems and software applications
  • Experience working with computer networks, network administration and hardware
  • Possesses good knowledge of different software systems and various compatibility requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Web Design applications (Photoshop and Illustrator) and WordPress standards and functionality
  • Familiarity with support and troubleshooting of personal computers
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Resourceful and has an understanding of business solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN/WiFi network protocols
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada


Network & Telecommunications

  • Direct day to day operations and maintenance of Toronto Rock Lacrosse and Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (“enterprise”) networking technology and telecommunications infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain relationship with outsourced technology service providers and become first point of contact
  • Collaborate with outsourced service providers on the implementation, testing, deployment and integration of network systems
  • Manage the network and telecommunications budget for cost containment, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers
  • Evaluate user needs and system functionality and assess that IT facilities meet these needs
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot desktop & laptop computers and printers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues with networking equipment, routers, telephone equipment and business machines
  • Recommend network, server and related equipment and software upgrades and improvements as required
  • Liaise with service providers to ensure the smooth running of all IT systems, including anti-virus software, print services, email provision, online store and CRM systems
  • Ensure that software licensing laws are adhered to
  • Provide secure access to the network for remote users
  • Ensure the security of data from internal and external attack by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures

Web Administration

  • Install, customize, update and maintain enterprise web pages and sites
  • Maintains sites appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards
  • Create and analyze reports on web activity, number of hits, traffic patterns and other metrics
  • Protects site by designing and installing security precautions

Web Design

  • Work with Marketing & Communications and Operations departments to create a consistent and compelling visual style for website, advertisements and collateral materials
  • Design and format web pages
  • Test and troubleshoot web page features
  • Create artwork/graphics to appear on webpages, advertisements and collateral materials
  • Maintain archive of images, photos, or previous work products
