POSITION: Ticket Sales Representative (Contract)

REPORTS TO: Director of Business Operations          

DEPARTMENT: Ticket Sales and Service        

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM or 12 PM to 8 PM – Some weekends and holidays required

LOCATION: Toronto Rock Athletic Centre - 1132 Invicta Drive, Oakville   

SALARY: Salary + commission

NATURE & SCOPE

As a member of the Ticket Sales & Service department, this position is responsible for proactively sourcing new business, recognizing and responding to business opportunities, as well as single game order taking and fulfilment. This position predominately involves outbound and inbound phone correspondence. This is an entry-level position into professional sports with the potential for permanent employment within the Toronto Rock organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive new subscription sales (Season Tickets and Flex Packs)
  • Recognize business opportunities and up sell subscription level packages
  • Sell and manage group ticket programs with the goal to increase in arena attendance and revenue
  • Meet both ticket revenue and ticket unit goals
  • Handle incoming ticket related calls & inquiries
  • Process single game ticket orders when required
  • Maintain an average of 30 outbound calls per day
  • Recognize and react to Customer Service issues with quick and positive solutions
  • Proactively source new business
  • Generate new Gondola Suite sales
  • Work constructively with all members to achieve targets
  • Various game-day duties throughout season
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum College/University degree
  • A strong desire to begin a career in the sports industry
  • Prior sales experience inside or outside a sports franchise or organization a benefit
  • Excellent relationship building and people skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional telephone manner
  • Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines
  • A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Assertive, confident, persistent and results-oriented
  • Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • While looking to succeed personally, you must be able and interested in supporting a team environment and adhering to the Ticket Sales & Service department’s objectives, goals and mandates
  • Familiarity with event ticketing system is considered an asset
  • Flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays for games and events

       Game Day Event Host/Hostess & Video Correspondent

 

The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club is currently seeking a qualified and outgoing individual for the part-time paid position of Game Day Event Host/Hostess & Video Correspondent during all of the Toronto Rock home games at Air Canada Centre for the 2015 season.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Executing all in-stand and on-floor entertainment promotions, interviews, PA reads and sponsorship fulfillment as required during the 2015 season, including pre-season and playoff games as required
  • Provide an entertaining and upbeat experience for the Toronto Rock fans, clients & guests in attendance
  • Conduct live interviews with players, special guests & fans during games and/or practices
  • Participate in Toronto Rock events (pre-game parties, Season Ticket Holder party etc.) as required
  • Assist with the development and execution of unique and updated online video content on torontorock.com
  • Attend a pre-determined number of Toronto Rock practices as required

 
Qualifications:

  • Energetic & engaging personality
  • Outgoing with a willingness and desire to have fun.
  • Comfortable performing in front of large crowds and on camera
  • Motivated, with the desire to enhance the game day experience for fans and positively represent the Toronto Rock
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • A professional demeanour and image
  • Flexible with using a script, but adaptable to improvise and “think on your feet” as required
  • Ability to take direction and constructive criticism
  • Have the ability to follow timing queues through a headset while remaining composed and confident  while on camera

 
Requirements:

  • Commitment for the entire 2015 Toronto Rock home schedule (January – April) and  for all scheduled event dates, including those outside of Toronto Rock home games if necessary
  • Commitment  for any pre-season games (December) and any applicable playoff games (May)
  • Performance under tight timing in-game schedules
  • Being prepared for upcoming games by familiarizing themselves with script, insuring new reads are noted and rehearsed
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Compensation based on experience

Toronto Rock Mascot "IGGY"

 

The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club is currently seeking a qualified and outgoing individual for the part-time position of Team Mascot (“IGGY”) during all of the Toronto Rock home games at Air Canada Centre for the 2015 season.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform as "IGGY" at all Toronto Rock home (pre-season, regular season and playoff games if applicable)
  • Assist in the execution of contests and promotions performed on the floor, in-stands or on concourse during designated timeouts/quarter breaks
  • Assist in creating routines and performances for “IGGY”  for in-game promotional entertainment
  • Assist in preparing props for promotional entertainment or theme nights as required
  • Preparing for upcoming games by familiarizing themselves with new and revised promotions, contests and fan interaction opportunities
  • Perform as “IGGY” at all Toronto Rock social events (pre-game parties, season ticket holder party etc.) and community appearances as required
  • Provide an entertaining and upbeat experience for the Toronto Rock fans, clients & guests in attendance during games and events
  • Attend Toronto Rock sponsor events as “Iggy” when required
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Previous game day or mascot performance will be considered an asset

 
Requirements:

  • Commitment for the entire 2015 Toronto Rock home schedule (January – April) and  for all scheduled event dates, including those outside of Toronto Rock home games if necessary
  • Commitment  for any pre-season games (December) and any applicable playoff games (May)
  • Performance under tight timing in-game schedules
  • Willingness to dance, participate in wacky promotional activities
  • Capable to remain inside “Iggy” costume for approximately 3-4 hours at a time
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Compensation based on experience
