Toronto – Toronto Rock games received an injection of excitement last season with the addition of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders and the lacrosse club is pleased to announce their return for the 2013 NLL season.
“We could not be happier with what the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders brought to the in-game experience last season,” said Rock Owner and President Jamie Dawick. “Their contribution in the community and interacting with fans throughout last season and into our off-season this summer has been nothing short of tremendous.”
The Rock welcome back Paola Cimitan as Head Coach of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders. Cimitan has served as both Manager and Head Coach with the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts Cheerleaders prior to joining the Rock last season.
“We were happy to bring back to the fans what they wanted in 2012,” said Cimitan who was in charge of the reincarnation of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders last season. “It was a great building year for our first year back and we’re excited to continue to grow and bring more excitement to game days. We’re looking for a team of 16 beautiful and energetic girls this year to cheer on our team at all home games and of course to continue all of our appearances in the community.”
Tryouts for the 2013 Toronto Rock Cheerleaders will be held on Sunday, October 14th from 9am to 2pm at the Toronto Rock practice facility located at 1132 Invicta Drive in Oakville. For more information, including the application form, please visit www.torontorock.com.
The new Toronto Rock Cheerleaders will be selected by a panel of judges which includes TSN 1050 Toronto’s morning man Mike Richards and entertainment reporter Rudy Blair of 680 News. Also on the judging panel will be Rock Owner and President Jamie Dawick and Rock goaltending coach Pat Campbell.
