TORONTO, ON – RBC Royal Bank and the Toronto Rock are pleased to announce a partnership on a new initiative to help grow the game of lacrosse and get more youth involved in Canada’s National Summer Sport. RBC Play Lacrosse presented by the Toronto Rock will kick off this summer with four clinics in the Greater Toronto Area.
Toronto Rock star Garrett Billings will lead the clinics as participants will be taught about the rich history of the game of lacrosse as well as learning the basic skills of the sport. The program will be a fun and enjoyable experience for all youth enrolled in the clinics.
“We are excited to partner with RBC and get lacrosse sticks into more kids hands,” said Billings. “Growing the game is something that is near and dear to my heart and I look forward to continuing to expose the game I love to as many people as possible.”
“We’re proud to support this program through the RBC Learn to Play Project – a multi-year commitment to encouraging kids to get out and play,” says Kim Mason, RBC Regional President for Greater Toronto. “When kids learn the fundamentals of sport, they develop the confidence, competence and social skills to be healthy, happy and active for life.”
