The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club is pleased to announce the signing of Jim Veltman to a five year agreement.
The Rock and Veltman have agreed to terms of a five year deal which incorporates one year as a player and a four year agreement to join Glenn Clark on the bench. Terms of the deal were not disclosed due to club policy.
“It is a tremendous step for our organization to have Jim stay with his team,” says Rock president Brad Watters. “We are thrilled to have him lead and coach our team for the future. He and Clark will be a dynamic pair in preparing our team for our sixth NLL Championship.”
The transition from player to coach will culminate by having a tribute game to Veltman at the last regular season Rock home game this coming season.
Veltman, who has played the majority of his professional NLL career in Toronto, enters his tenth and final season on the floor as a Rock player before making the transition as part of the Rock coaching staff.
“I’m ecstatic that Toronto has committed to me and my family for the next five years,” Jim Veltman said. “The Rock is an organization that I started with and watched grow through the good and bad times. I’m happy to continue with that group of people and with a club that we’re all so proud of.”
