The Results Are In!

Fan Choice Awards Winners

Oakville, ON The Annual Toronto Rock Fan Choice Awards voting concluded last week, and the results are in!  The Rock City faithful were tasked with picking their favourites who made them laugh, brought them to their feet by making extraordinary plays, and who impressed them most with their game day fits.

The MVP voting was between finalists Chris Boushy, Josh Dawick, and Brad Kri.  When the dust settled, there was little doubt amongst voters who declared leading scorer Josh Dawick as their MVP for the 2024-25 season with 49 percent of the vote.

The Offensive Player of the Year also saw Dawick as the winner, but the vote was incredibly close with all offensive players on the ballot.  Chris Boushy was the runner up with 33 percent of the votes while Dawick edged him out for the award in the minds and hearts of the fans by just a few votes as Dawick garnered 34 percent of the votes for Offensive Player of the Year.

For Defensive Player of the Year, all defenders were eligible to win, but it was veteran Big Bad Brad Kri securing 31 percent of the vote to take the honour.

Fan Favourite voting is spread throughout the entire roster with every player receiving votes.  This year, it was viral sensation Elijah Gash who delivered a knockout punch to the competition with 26 percent of the vote and earns the title of Fan Favourite.

Three players were nominated as candidates for the Unsung Hero Award, all were defenders.  Josh Jubenville received over half of the votes that were cast, winning the Unsung Hero award with 59 percent of the votes.  Zack Kearney and Chris Weier received 20.5 percent of the vote to finish as co-runners-up.

The goal of the year is always a tough category to nail down.  Is it style points, timeliness, or the battle that makes a goal the one to remember from a season?  Perhaps the fans checked all those boxes who voted for Tom Schreiber’s remarkable behind-the-back bouncer against Halifax as the winner with 41 percent of the votes.

The Best Dressed award had three players make it to the ballot as the final nominees: Latrell Harris, Phil Mazzuca, and Josh Jubenville.  In the end, “Treezy” was the clear-cut winner with a whopping 60 percent of the votes leaving little doubt who the fans thought rocked the most elite game day fits.

Lastly, voters were asked to turn to the lighter side of things and after watching a blooper reel decide who brought the most laughs around the team this year.  Tom Schreiber and TD Ierlan were paired together for a mid-season promotional video shoot and the duo did not disappoint.  28 percent of the fans had Tom and TD as the ones that had them dropping the most laughing-crying emojis 🤣.
