TORONTO – The NLL announced today that the suspension placed on Rock Head Coach Glenn Clark has been lifted effective immediately. Clark will return to his position behind the bench this Friday night when the Rock host the Buffalo Bandits at the Air Canada Centre at 7:30 p.m. EST.
The indefinite NLL suspension for Clark came on January 17th as a result of his involvement in an incident that took place following the January 11th Rock game against the Minnesota Swarm at the Air Canada Centre. All pending criminal charges against Clark were dropped by the Toronto Police on February 5th 2008.
“We understand that this has been a very difficult situation for all involved and thank the NLL and the great Toronto Rock fans for their continued support of Glenn and the team” said Mike Kloepfer, Director of Lacrosse Operations for the Rock.
Clark met with NLL Commissioner Jim Jennings on Monday evening in New York to discuss the unresolved situation. The lifting of the suspension is conditional upon Clark avoiding violating terms of a probationary period which runs through the 2009 season as well as certain conditions for the duration of his NLL career. The league also issued a fine to Clark for his role in the January 11th incident.
