Veteran Of 158 NLL Games Adds Depth To Rock Roster

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President and GM Jamie Dawick today announced the signing of unrestricted free agent defender and faceoff specialist Jay Thorimbert to a one-year agreement and have placed him on the team’s Practice Roster. The contract is pending league approval.

Known as one of the best drawmen in the game, the 32-year old Thorimbert has won 57 percent of his faceoffs over his 10-year NLL career. The veteran defender has also chipped in at the offensive end scoring 39 goals, 62 assists and 102 points in 158 NLL regular season games. He has also collected 1464 loose balls in his career.

In 2017 while with the New England Black Wolves, Thorimbert was a 2^nd team NLL All-Pro selection. He won 58 percent of his faceoffs and scored 7 goals, 8 assists and 15 points while scooping 192 loose balls.

The Rock will open their 2018-19 season on the road on Friday night at Buffalo against the Bandits at KeyBank Center. Fans can watch the game on Bleacher Report Live at 7:30 p.m. ET.
