Nick Rose Returns To Rock City!

Veteran Goaltender Signs 2-Year Deal

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President, and General Manager Jamie Dawick announced today that unrestricted free agent goaltender Nick Rose has signed a two-year agreement bringing one of the most decorated netminders in franchise history back to Rock City.

After being traded to the Calgary Roughnecks last season, Rose returns to Toronto where he built an incredible legacy over the course of more than a decade.  The Orangeville, ON native has played 15 NLL seasons, including 13 with the Rock, and at 37 years old, remains one of the league’s most consistent performers.

Rose’s name is etched throughout the Toronto Rock record book. He sits first all-time in franchise history in wins (111) and saves (6,907), while ranking among the NLL’s all-time greats in both categories. His steady presence in the crease and veteran leadership have made him a cornerstone of the Rock’s identity for years.

In 2024, Rose was named the NLL Goaltender of the Year for the first time in his career.  He posted a 15-3 won-loss record along with a 9.18 goals-against average and a remarkable .812 save percentage.

After failing to make the roster following his selection by the Rock in the 2008 NLL Draft, the superstar goalie began his career with the Boston Blazers.  Boston ceased operations after the 2011 season and Rose was claimed in the dispersal draft by Calgary.  He was then acquired by Toronto in a 2012 trade from the Roughnecks and enjoyed a run that endeared him to fans, making him one of the most popular players in team history.

Rose’s journey has now come full circle. As he returns to the crease at TD Coliseum in Hamilton, the veteran goaltender is laser-focused on the goal that has driven him for his entire career, raising the NLL Cup in Rock City.

NLL Free Agency officially opened on Tuesday.  Fans can expect a flurry of signings from the Rock as training camp begins next Saturday at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.
