Rock Trade Dispersal Picks For First Round Pick In NLL Entry Draft
Toronto Acquires 17th Overall Pick from Las Vegas
Oakville, ON – Earlier today, the National Lacrosse League (NLL) held a dispersal draft of the players from the Ottawa Black Bears and Philadelphia Wings who have recently discontinued operations. In total, 52 players were selected by NLL clubs, however, the Rock did not make a single claim.
Prior to the proceedings, Toronto Rock Owner and GM Jamie Dawick traded the Rock’s 12th and 24th selections in the dispersal draft to the Las Vegas Desert Dogs in exchange for a first round pick in the 2026 NLL Entry Draft, 17th overall.
The Rock passed on their third round selection, 36th overall and all subsequent rounds thereafter.
The 2026 NLL Entry Draft presented by Capelli Sport will take place at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 24. The Rock now hold six picks in the draft including the second overall selection, a pick that was acquired in 2025 from Calgary.
Up next, franchise player designations are due by 4 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 18, with free agency beginning at 5 p.m. ET. The Rock previously placed the Franchise Tag on Mark Matthews. During free agency, clubs may negotiate with and sign eligible rostered restricted free agents (RFAs) and unrestricted free agents (UFAs) in accordance with NLL rules.
