Rock Welcome Black Wolves To ACC Friday

Oakville, ON – The Toronto Rock have a 6-2 record at home and have equaled a franchise best 12 wins as they head into their final home game of the 2015 regular season.  Toronto (12-4) will be looking to stay in the hunt for the East Division title, while New England (4-9) will try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive when the two teams face off on Friday at Air Canada at 7:30pm.

There is obviously a couple of larger storylines surrounding this game.

The first of which is a pair of elite level forwards in the Rock’s Kevin Crowley and the Black Wolves’ Garrett Billings facing their old teams for the first time.  Crowley and Billings were swapped for one another at the trade deadline on March 31st.

The second big piece of news that broke this week was the impending return of Toronto Rock legend Colin Doyle.  The 17-year NLL veteran has yet to play a game in the 2015 NLL season, but was placed on the Active Roster on Wednesday and will be eligible to play his first game in his 18th NLL campaign on Friday night against New England.

On the statistical side of things, the Rock’s Josh Sanderson enters the game with 79 assists and can set a new NLL single season record by collecting 4 assists on Friday night.  That would give him one more than former Rock forward Garrett Billings who set the record in 2012 when he put up 82 assists in 16 games.

The Rock still has a chance to claim the number one spot in the East Division.  They need some help from an opponent or possibly two of the Rochester Knighthawks depending on the results of the Rock’s final two regular season games.  Rochester (10-4) and Toronto (12-4) have each lost four games and the Knighthawks hold the tiebreaker should the two teams finish with identical records at the end of the 18-game regular season.

Friday night’s game against the New England Black Wolves is a 7:30pm start at Air Canada Centre.  It’s Toronto Sun fan Appreciation and Autograph Night.  For the BEST ticket in town and more information, please visit torontorock.com or call 416-596-3075.
