Rock’s Day at Canada’s Wonderland a Success

TORONTO – The Toronto Rock’s annual Day at Canada’s Wonderland was another huge success, as thousands of fans and interested spectators passed through the Rock exhibit on Saturday Sept. 24.

“It exposes us to the type of people we encourage to come out to our games. They’re energetic, outgoing people who we look for in our fan base and who fuel us in games,” said Rock Events Co-ordinator Terri Workman. “These fans are loud and they’re entirely into the games. They can make the difference in a close game.”

Thousands of people passed through the Rock display which included an inflatable shooting game, player autographs, video presentations of the sport, and appearances from both the Little Miss Rock and Molson Canadian Hot Rocks dance teams.

“It allowed us to have some player-fan interaction,” Workman added. “We’re grateful to the staff at Wonderland for their organization and providing a secure environment for our fans and visitors to the park.”

Rock fans were also able to participate in hourly question-and-answer periods with a group of Rock players, including Jim Veltman, Chris Driscoll, Josh Sanderson, Brian Beisel, Ian Rubel, Bob Watson and Derek Suddons. The Champion’s Cup was also on site, providing fans with a one-in-a-kind access to the league’s championship trophy.

“It’s great for our fans to be able to get a picture with the Cup and their favourite player,” Workman said. “The day was a success.”
