Top NLL Draft Pick Signs With The Toronto Rock

Mike MacLeod signed a one year deal with the Toronto Rock this week. Due to club policy terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MacLeod, from Owen Sound, ON, was the Rock’s first pick (2nd round, 15th overall) in the 2006 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.
Earlier this month, Macleod helped lead the Brock Badgers men’s lacrosse team to an 11-8 victory to win the CUFLA Championship over the Bishop’s Gaiters, adding 2 goals and 3 assists.
MacLeod also recorded 4 goals and 30 assists in 22 games this summer with the Orangeville Northmen Junior A team.

Brad MacArthur and Matt Carroll have also signed one year contracts with the Rock.
Brad MacArthur, although he hasn’t played professionally since 2004 with the Calgary Roughnecks, has six years of experience in the NLL. Brad played in Rochester from 1999-2001, was on the Montreal Express for one season in 2002 before signing with the Calgary Roughnecks for two years in 2003 and 2004.
MacArthur has recorded 588 face off wins in his career and earned an NLL Championship with the Roughnecks in 2004, when Calgary defeated Buffalo 14-11.

Matt Carroll, second pick for the Rock in the NLL Entry Draft, third round and 35th overall, has also signed a one year contract.
Carroll, an Ajax native, is Captain of the Whitby Warriors Junior A team has grown up watching the Toronto Rock.
“Having the chance to play for your childhood team is very exciting” says Matt.
