Bill Hostrawser Signs 1-Year Contract Extension

Veteran Defender Returns For His 9^th Season With The Rock

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President, and GM Jamie Dawick announced today that veteran defender and fan-favourite Bill Hostrawser has agreed to a 1-year contract extension.  The 2022-23 season will be his ninth season in a Rock uniform.

The signing is pending league approval.

“Billy is the type of player that gives you so much more than any stat you’ll find on the scoresheet,” said Dawick.  “He is a guy you want to have riding shotgun with you when you go to battle.  Billy is also just one of the best teammates you could have and is a true professional and a great leader.  We’re happy to have one of our key defenders back with the Rock.”

Hostrawser’s physical presence has never been overlooked, however as he’s matured as a pro, so has his defensive game.  Last season, he set a new career-high with 22 caused turnovers, five better than his previous career-best of 17 set in 2019.

With the NLL and NLLPA only recently agreeing to a new CBA, the NLL’s free agency period will now commence on Monday after originally being scheduled to being on August 1.
