Bill Hostrawser Signs 1-Year Deal

BILL HOSTRAWSER SIGNS 1-YEAR DEAL

The Rock’s Glue Guy

Oakville, ON –Toronto Rock Owner, President, and GM Jamie Dawick today announced the signing of Rock defender Bill Hostrawser to a 1-year contract extension for the 2023-24 season.  The signing is pending league approval.

Every team has a player that is the glue that keeps the group together and you can definitely put Hostrawser in that category of teammate.  The 31-year-old from Belwood, ON often assumes the role of sticking up for those wearing the same jersey as him.  It’s something the fans love and his teammates and management really value.

“We are thrilled to have Billy back,” said Dawick.  “He’s one of the longest serving players on this team and is a true heart and soul guy.  His importance to this team is both on and off the floor and wears a letter as one of our leaders for a reason.  I can’t imagine this team without Billy on it.”

Hostrawser was originally drafted by the Vancouver Stealth and played parts of two seasons out west before being dealt to Toronto in February of 2014.

“I feel lucky to have the opportunity to play again for the Rock,” said Hostrawser. “I have spent the majority of my professional career with this team, and I intend to come back with more focus and drive to hopefully secure a championship this season.  I ain’t getting any younger.”

Of his 157 career NLL games, he’s played 142 of them in a Rock jersey, which places him in the top 10 all-time in team history.  With 449 career penalty minutes, he’s the Rock’s franchise leader in that department.
