Double The Chips For Dawick After Day 3

Las Vegas, Nevada – With 85,600 chips after Day 2 at the 2013 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, Toronto Rock Owner and President Jamie Dawick nearly doubled his chip total finishing Thursday’s Day 3 with 170,500 chips at the Rio All-Suite Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Play will continue on Friday with just 666 players remaining as over 1,000 players were sent to the rail on Day 3.  The top 648 players will cash, meaning the players surviving the first level on Friday will likely find themselves in the money.  Dawick has cashed once before at the WSOP Main Event when he finished 363rd in 2007 and collected $34,664.

“The goal is not just to finish in the money,” said Dawick.  “The goal really is to win the tournament, but the first step is to get into the money and we are real close.  If I can get all-in before the money, I will.  I’m not going to lay back just because we’re this close to the money.”

The entire field is playing in one room for the first time in the event giving the Main Event a whole new feeling and buzz.

“It was great to be honest,” explained Dawick of moving to the showcase room at the WSOP Main Event.  “The feature TV table, the secondary feature TV table, it’s all in there.  Seeing tables collapse when players are eliminated, it just really shows that you are getting closer and closer to the end goal.”

Players finishing anywhere from 577th to 648th will take home $19,106 from the $10,000 buy-in tournament.  There were 6,352 players that started the Main Event, but only one will claim the title as World Champion and secure $8,359,531 in prize money.

American Maxx Coleman from Wichita, Kansas finished as the Day 3 chip leader with 1,071,500 and a lead of just under 100,000 chips over second place Joshua Prager.
