Eric Law Moved To Active Roster

TORONTO, ON – Toronto Rock General Manager Terry Sanderson confirmed today that the Professional Lacrosse Player’s Association (PLPA) has withdrawn the appeal of the one-game suspension assessed to Rock defender Craig England.  England will now serve a one-game suspension this Saturday when the Rock travel Rochester after the PLPA’s appeal had allowed the rookie defenceman to play last week against Buffalo.

After league review, England was handed a match penalty for illegal cross-checking as a result of a hit during the Rock’s home opener against Calgary back on January 3rd.  The original penalty was a 2-minute minor for slashing.

England’s suspension opens up an active roster spot that will be filled by rookie forward Eric Law.  Law was a 3rd round pick (28th overall) by the Rock in the 2013 NLL Draft and began the season on the Rock practice roster.

The 22-year old native of Centennial, Colorado will be eligible to make his NLL debut this Saturday against the Rochester Knighthawks as the Rock face the back-to-back NLL Champions at the Blue Cross Arena.  Law graduated from the University of Denver last spring and starred for the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse this past summer.  His 2013 MLL season was highlighted by a 9-goal game in the league’s semi-final game.
