GO Guaranteed Win Night Begins Busy Weekend For Rock

Oakville, ON – The Toronto Rock (2-0) begin a busy weekend on Friday night with their 2015 home opener and GO Guaranteed Win Night at Air Canada Centre against the Buffalo Bandits (2-1) at 7:30pm.  The next night, Toronto travels to Rochester to face the winless Knighthawks (0-2) at Blue Cross Arena at 7:30pm.

Fans attending GO Guaranteed Win Night on Friday, at Air Canada Centre will be eligible to receive a free ride home on GO Transit (Train or Bus) following the game.  Fans will just need to hang on to their Toronto Rock game ticket for their free ride home.

In November, Rock owner Jamie Dawick publicly guaranteed a Toronto Rock win in the team’s home opener against the Buffalo Bandits.  If the Rock lose the game, every fan in attendance that purchased a regular priced single game ticket to the home opener will be eligible for a free ticket to any remaining 2015 Rock regular season home game at Air Canada Centre.

Prior to Friday night’s game, the Rock will pay tribute to former GM Terry Sanderson who passed away in late November, just prior to Toronto opening training camp.  Fans are encouraged to be in their seats early to be a part of the pre-game ceremony.

The Rock were eliminated from last year’s playoffs by the Bandits, but Rock head coach John Lovell said payback is not a focus for his club on Friday night.

“It’s certainly a clean slate, this is a new season.  What happened last year was disappointing for our team, but this is a clean slate.  We’re looking forward to this game, it’s an important game and because it’s Buffalo and it’s in our division.  It’s a home game and it’s really import for to play well in front of our fans,” Lovell said.

The Rock will face a quick turnaround with Saturday night’s contest in Rochester.  The Rock have already had success on the road in Rochester with a season opening 13-12 win back on January 3rd at the Blue Cross Arena.

“Rochester is still the best team,” said Lovell.  “We know what they’re capable of and they know what they’re capable of too.  They’re a good team and they’ll bounce back.  It’s a difficult back to back for our team.”

The next portion of the relationship between GO Transit and the Toronto Rock will be announced at GO Guaranteed Win Night on Friday at Air Canada Centre.

Fans are also reminded that the Mill St. Brewery Toronto Rock post-game party has a new home this year at Shoeless Joe’s located at 276 King St. West, at the corner of King St. West and Duncan St.  Meet the Rock players and cheerleaders after the game.
