Paul Rabil Experience LIVE! At The TRAC In October

Lacrosse Icon Will Hold First Ever Canadian Camp In Oakville In Conjunction With TRAC Athletics

Oakville, ON – The Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC) today announced the Paul Rabil Experience LIVE! is coming to Canada’s premier lacrosse facility on October 1st and 2nd. This is the first of many unique events at the TRAC as part of the new slate of programming offered by TRAC Athletics.

“Incredibly excited,” exclaimed Rabil when asked about his feelings on staging his first camp north of the 49th parallel.   “While playing in the NLL, I spent a lot of time playing all over Canada and really enjoyed the style of play, passion for the game and high skill level. As Canada’s field lacrosse game has grown to rival best in class, I’m thrilled to have the chance to come up and teach what I know about the game.”

There will be two one-day camps at the TRAC in Oakville, Ontario. Saturday, October 1st will be for Tyke, Novice and Peewee aged players and then on Sunday, October 2nd, Bantam and Midget players will take to the field. All registered players will receive one FREE month of access to the Paul Rabil Experience online instructional platform.

“It’s a great opportunity to learn the important facets of the game, both offensively and defensively,” explained Rabil. “I bring loads of experience playing and winning at all levels and over time, have learned best practices for instructing fundamentals and high level skills. Additionally, all campers will have exposure to the Toronto Rock state-of-the-art facilities. I’m excited to spend time with all attendees and share my knowledge of the game we love.”

Players will learn both the fundamentals and advanced skills of stick work, dodging, shooting time and space, shooting on the run, defending and overall lacrosse IQ. Different than most camps out there, Rabil will demonstrate every skill and work with each attendee on ways they can either adapt or improve.

Rabil emphasizes that camp instruction is geared towards players of all skill levels and feels players should never worry about comparing themselves to their peers. His focus is on individual development, less scrimmaging and Rabil’s demonstrations are articulated from the bottom up – fundamentals to advanced skills.

The 30-year old from Baltimore, Maryland will also have a very well known assistant at the camp in the form of Toronto Rock captain, Colin Doyle as well as several other Toronto Rock players as instructors for the weekend event.

“I’m looking forward to reuniting with good friend and lacrosse legend Colin Doyle as well as the Toronto Rock. This will be an experience I won’t forget and hopefully one that we continue to grow for years to come,” said Rabil.

The Toronto Rock recently acquired the NLL playing rights via trade from the New England Black Wolves on July 1st.

Rabil is a dynamic lacrosse player and during his five seasons in the NLL, he scored 161 points in 68 games with the Stealth franchise (Washington and San Jose) and Philadelphia. His speed and athleticism were on full display, playing a key role in the Stealth’s 2010 NLL Champion’s Cup win.

There is no bigger name when taking a look across the game’s landscape. Rabil has 187,000+ followers on Instagram, 68,000+ subscribers on YouTube, 68,000+ followers on Twitter, 80,000+ likes on Facebook and is dominating lacrosse’s digital world. He launched the Paul Rabil Experience, an interactive online lacrosse camp, over a year ago and players of all ages and skill levels can learn from the former Johns Hopkins Blue Jays great through film and direct interaction with Rabil himself.

At the collegiate level, Rabil was named a first team All-American in three of his four years at Hopkins. He was also a member of two NCAA championship teams in 2005 and 2007. Following his NCAA career, Rabil was selected 2nd overall in the 2008 NLL Draft by the Stealth.

Registration for the Paul Rabil Experience LIVE! is now open at torontorockac.com. The cost for the camp is $139 per day and all participants will receive a swag package.
