ROCK HOST THE PHILADELPHIA WINGS AT HOME ON FRIDAY

Coming off a big 13-6 win over the Minnesota Swarm last weekend and ending a four game losing streak, the Toronto Rock (5-7) play host to the Philadelphia Wings (5-6) on Friday March 30th 2007 at 7:30 p.m. EST.

Happy with his team on the road in Minnesota last Friday night, Rock Head Coach Glenn Clark is excited about moving forward this weekend. “We’re in a similar position as we were last weekend. There are still four teams trying to get into playoffs and a win would position us well heading into the last few games.”

Josh Sanderson leads the Rock with 62 points (23 goals, 39 assists), Blaine Manning with 59 points (16 goals, 43 assists) and top goal scorer Aaron Wilson with 52 points (25 goals, 27 assists).

The Toronto Rock will be revealing their third jersey to recognize the 2007 Rock Charity Game at the game on Friday March 30th vs. the Philadelphia Wings. Also, from every ticket sold for this game, the Rock are pleased to announce that Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment will donate $1 to selected charities on behalf of the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club.

Fans attending the game that evening will have the chance to participate in the silent auction and bid on the third jerseys worn during the game by the team. Funds raised from the silent auction will support Ontario Special Olympics and Les’s Fund-Lacrosse Fans Fighting Cancer.
Les’s Fund was created in recognition of the Rock’s former coach and GM Les Bartley who lost his fight with cancer in 2005 but proudly wanted any funds raised on his behalf to support the following charities: Princess Margaret Hospital for colon cancer research, Wellspring Cancer Support Centre & the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Winners with the highest bids on the Charity third jerseys will be welcomed onto the floor post-game to meet the player and take the jersey right off their back to have it autographed.

The silent auction will begin when the doors open at the ACC at 6:30 p.m. on Friday March 30th at Gate One and conclude at the ball drop of the third quarter.

The Rock have four games left in their regular season, three of them being at home at the Air Canada Centre. They take on the Minnesota Swarm once again next Friday night, April 6th at 7:30 p.m. EST before heading to Chicago to face the Shamrox for their last road game the following evening on Saturday April 7th at 8:30 p.m. EST.
