What to watch for vs. Buffalo Bandits – ECF Game 2

Game Two Of The East Conference Finals

Hamilton, ON – The Toronto Rock (E2) take on the Buffalo Bandits (E1) tonight at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, ON.  It’s game two of the best-of-3 East Conference Finals series which the Bandits lead 1-0 after last Sunday’s 18-17 win in Buffalo, NY.

Should the Rock emerge victorious, a deciding game three will be played on Saturday, May 28 at 7:30pm at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center.

Fans can watch the game vs. Buffalo live at 7pm ET on TSN 4/5 and TSN’s digital platforms via TSN.ca and the TSN App.  To stream the game, simply login to TSN Direct with your cable or satellite provider’s credentials or your TSN Direct account info if you’re a subscriber to the streaming service.

Here’s what to watch for in tonight’s matchup.

  • The Rock got the better of Bandits’ goalie Matt Vinc in a Game 2 of the playoffs after losing game 1 when he was a Rochester Knighthawk back in 2015. The Rock won game 2, won the deciding mini-game and chased Vinc from the net, won the series and went on to a berth in the NLL Finals.
  • The Rock are 8-2 at FirstOntario Centre this year including their first-round home playoff win over Halifax. The Bandits are 7-2 on the road this year, with one of those two losses against the Rock, at FirstOntario Centre.
  • Nick Rose will reach 500 career playoff minutes 7:05 into the game and his first save will be the 300th of his playoff career.
  • When the whistle blows, Dan Dawson will pass Sandy Chapman, Pat McCready and Jeff Shattler for sole possession of 4th in all-time NLL playoff games played with 32.
  • Justin Scott and Zach Manns may be playing in their first ever set of NLL playoff games, but they are playing with the confidence of playoff veterans. Scott scored twice in his game one NLL playoff debut, while Manns has 6 goals in his two playoff games, tied for the team lead with Tom Schreiber.

Check out this week’s edition of the Toronto Rock Total Access podcast to get yourself ready for the game.  This week’s show features Toronto Rock Head Coach Matt Sawyer talking about last weekend’s loss and what’s ahead for his club in game two.

Tickets are still available for tonight’s game two of the East Conference Finals at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton.  Fans can also purchase tickets in person at the FirstOntario Centre box office right up until game time.
