Rock Set To Play First Home Game Of 2023

Hamilton, ON – The Toronto Rock (2-2) face their rivals, the Halifax Thunderbirds (3-2) for the first time this season.  The Rock are coming off a 15-7 win last week over the New York Riptide, while the Thunderbirds suffered an 11-10 OT loss last night to Albany in Halifax, NS.

Fans can watch the game vs.  live at 7pm ET on TSN’s digital platform TSN+.  To stream the game, simply login to TSN+ with your cable or satellite provider’s credentials or your TSN+ account info if you’re a subscriber to the streaming service.

Here’s what to watch for in tonight’s matchup.

  • This is the first meeting of the season between the two teams since the Rock eliminated Halifax in OT in the East Conference Semi-Final.
  • Stephen Keogh played for the Thunderbirds last season, but before that also played for the franchise while they were the original Rochester Knighthawks where he won three NLL titles.
  • The Rock have outshot their opponent in every game this season, including last weekend’s 71-41 edge in shots on goal against New York. And incredible 30-shot margin!
  • Corey Small has scored in every game this season for the Rock with 9 goals in 4 games.
  • It’s a premier faceoff matchup tonight between two of the league’s best in the Thunderbirds’ Jake Withers (82%) and the Rock’s TD Ierlan (80%).
  • The Thunderbirds boast some incredible depth on offence with 5 players with 10 goals or more through 5 games. Boushy (15), Fannell (12), Staats (10), Petterson (10) and Benesch (10) have all hit double digits.
  • The Rock are away for the next 2 weeks. At Phi, At Cgy.
