John Ranagan

Acquired:

Drafted in 2014 by the Philadelphia Wings before the franchise’s move to New England. Georgia Swarm traded their fourth-round selection in the 2023 NLL Entry Draft to the Philadelphia Wings in Exchange for John Ranagan.

John Ranagan was drafted by the Philadelphia Wings in 2014 before the franchise’s move to New England. In 2019, he was selected by the New York Riptide in the NLL Expansion Draft but was traded back to the Wings before the start of the 2020 season. In 2023, the Georgia Swarm acquired Ranagan from Philadelphia in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the NLL Entry Draft. A versatile transition player, Ranagan was a key contributor to the Swarm’s 2017 championship season, recording nine points (5G, 4A), 56 loose balls, and nine forced turnovers. During the playoffs, he added 10 loose balls and one assist to help secure the title. He was recognized as the Swarm’s Teammate of the Year in 2019 for his leadership and impact on and off the floor. Before his professional career, Ranagan was a standout at Johns Hopkins University, earning First-Team All-American honors in 2011 and Second-Team All-American honors in 2012.
