Entering his sixth season, Rees was drafted by the Knighthawks in the team’s first Entry Draft in 2019. Selected second overall in 2019, he was the first-ever draft pick of the new Knighthawks franchise. Through six years in Rochester, Rees has played the most games as a Knighthawk in franchise history while also tying for first in caused turnovers (83) and ranking second in loose ball recoveries (455) and blocked shots (46).  One of Rochester’s alternate captains, he was the Knighthawks’ team defensive MVP each of his first three seasons.
Along with playing in the NLL, Rees is also a member of the Premier Lacrosse League. Originally drafted into Major League Lacrosse by the Boston Cannons in 2019, Rees has played eight seasons of pro field lacrosse as a long stick midfielder. A two-time all-star, he won a championship with the Waterdogs in 2022.
Before getting drafted, Rees played his college ball at Stony Brook, where he was a two-time team captain. In his senior year, he earned America East Defender of the Year honors after scooping up 40 ground balls and causing 16 turnovers. He played his Junior ‘A’ ball in Port Coquitlam. He was traded to the Adanacs in his final season in 2018 and won the Minto Cup.
