Reid Reinholdt Returns

REID REINHOLDT RETURNS

Offensive Lefty Also Carries New Responsibility With Player Union Role

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock General Manager Jamie Dawick announced today that forward Reid Reinholdt has agreed to a 1-year contract extension.  The signing is pending league approval.

Reinholdt was never drafted and signed as a free agent with Toronto prior to the 2017 season.  Since then, he’s been one of the most clutch goal scorers for the club, always finding a way to score when it means the most.

“Reid’s an important piece of this team,” said Dawick.  “Reid’s been a very clutch player from day one with us, and you need guys to step up when it’s needed and the game is hanging in the balance.  He was making great strides and then had to sit out a season due to injury, but when he came back in 19-20, he showed us a lot of good things, so we hope he can continue on that trend.”

The presence of a clutch gene was never more evident than in a three-goal game in Saskatchewan against the Rush in 19-20.  One of those three goals was his goal-of-the-year candidate dunk from behind the net that swung the momentum in Rock’s favour, en route to a comeback win on the road.  Without a doubt, the team’s biggest win of that season.

In October of 2020, the now rebranded National Lacrosse League Players Association (NLLPA) held elections to form a new leadership group.  Reinholdt was elected as the Vice President and was subsequently appointed the Executive Director by newly elected President Zach Currier, also a player with the Calgary Roughnecks.

Reinholdt joked in a recent nll.com article that when it comes to his responsibilities with the NLLPA, “I’m in charge of everything the President tells me to be in charge of.”

The 29-year old native of Pitt Meadows, BC has scored 46 goals in 37 games during his 3-year NLL career.  He has added 52 assists to total 98 career points in those 37 games.

Stay tuned to the Rock’s social media channels and torontorock.com as more signings are announced throughout the summer months.

The next major date on the NLL’s summer calendar is the opening of the free agent signing period on Aug. 1.
