Brock Sorensen Moved To Active Roster

Patrick Merrill Moved To Injured Reserve – First Level

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President and GM Jamie Dawick announced that defender Brock Sorensen has been moved to the Active Roster and defender Patrick Merrill has been placed on the Injured Reserve – First Level.

Merrill made his season debut in Friday’s 14-11 loss to the Vancouver Stealth in Langley, BC. The 15-year NLL veteran collected one loose ball and won 80% of the face-offs he took (4 for 5). After playing his first game in over a year, the veteran defender will not be available for Sunday’s game due to a lower body injury.

Sorensen, had also made a brief return from a knee injury suffered last season and played both games last weekend, however he experienced some lower body tightness following the second game and was moved to the Injured Reserve and did not play in last night’s loss to Vancouver.

The Rock will wrap up this very busy stretch of four games in ten days with a trip back across the continent to play New England on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET. The Rock will then enjoy a much needed bye week, before returning home for their final regular season home game on Friday, April 14 against the Buffalo Bandits. It’s Fan Appreciation Night and Toronto Sun Autograph Night. For tickets, please visit torontorock.com or call 416-596-3075.
