Cheerleaders Will Rock The House

Toronto – The atmosphere at a Toronto Rock game can’t be matched, but this season the defending NLL Champions are going to turn it up a notch with the addition of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders.

“We’re extremely excited to add another facet to our game night experience,” said Rock Owner and President Jamie Dawick.  “Previously having a dance team, we’re shifting gears somewhat with the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders and we think it’s something the fans will enjoy.  The Cheerleaders will get the fans even more into the action on the floor and in turn create an even greater home floor advantage for us at Air Canada Centre.”

Last season the Rock were 7-1 at home in the regular season and then 2-0 in the post-season including the thrilling 8-7 Champion’s Cup victory over Washington to bring Toronto their sixth NLL Championship.

The Rock welcome Paola Cimitan as Head Coach of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders.  Cimitan has previously served as both Manager and Head Coach with the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts Cheerleaders.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to work with the Toronto Rock and bring their incredible fans the 2012 Toronto Rock Cheerleaders,” said an enthusiastic Cimitan.  “We’re looking for girls who are 18 years of age and older with a great personality, enthusiasm, dance technique and a high level of physical fitness.”

Tryouts for the 2012 Toronto Rock Cheerleaders will be held on Sunday, October 16 from 10am to 4pm at the Westin Harbour Castle in downtown Toronto.
