Toronto Rock Legend Will Lead Programming At Toronto Rock Athletic Centre
Oakville, ON – The Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC) is excited to announce Colin Doyle, as their new Athletics Director. The Toronto Rock captain is one of the most decorated players in the history of lacrosse and one of the greatest athletes to ever play for any Toronto professional sports team. He’s never been known as a one-dimensional player on the field and will be far from that in this new role. Through Doyle’s extensive leadership skills and experience, youth will be motivated to play to their full potential and receive academic guidance building champions on the field of play and in the classroom.
“I’m excited to use this world-class facility to help grow the game of lacrosse and increase the options kids have stay active and competitive through our new programs,” said Doyle. “Camps and clinics have long been a passion of mine and I value the opportunity to work with more kids and watch them grow into leaders. The TRAC is still the best kept secret in Ontario and I look forward to the exposure of the facility through all types of programs.” A new, diverse program offering is available for fall 2016.
The Toronto Rock Athletic Centre, located at 1132 Invicta Drive in Oakville, is the official practice facility of the National Lacrosse League’s Toronto Rock featuring two arena playing surfaces (one turf and one concrete), and an outdoor turf field which is regulation size for field lacrosse and is also FIFA certified.
Doyle, along with members of the Toronto Rock, will challenge boys and girls to raise the level of their game through weekly developmental lacrosse clinics as well as specialized clinics & camps. Participants will receive instruction from some of the best lacrosse players in world. TRAC Athletics will also run multi-sport camps on PA Days, Christmas holidays and the March Break.
TRAC Athletics is committed to getting youth involved in sports, developing their skills and aiding their academic efforts and in support of this, will launch a new Membership Program this fall offering exclusive benefits. Members will be able to work on their skills or jump into some pick-up action with open lacrosse floor and field time every day of the week (balls and nets will be provided). On the academics side, members will benefit from Doyle’s Masters of Education and decade-plus of classroom teaching experience as they will have access to tutoring sessions with him every Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm to 6pm at the TRAC classroom beginning in October. Members also receive discounts on all TRAC Athletics Programs, including Summer Camps and Dynamic Athlete Training Programs.
“Members will feel like a part of the facility,” said Doyle. “Memberships offer kids the opportunity to play lacrosse, work on their game daily without losing sight of their academic goals in a world-class setting. Members will ultimately take pride and ownership in the facility and in the game of lacrosse.”
Doyle is already busy planning some new and exciting lacrosse events at the TRAC in 2016 that will be the first of their kind here in Ontario. Registration for TRAC Athletics programs is now open! For more information, please visit torontorockac.com or call 416-596-3075 extension 223.
