ROCK TRADE CRAIG CONN TO ROUGHNECKS

TORONTO – The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club has traded Craig Conn and their second round selection in the 2010 National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft to the Calgary Roughnecks in exchange for their first round selection (11th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft and sixth round selection in the 2010 Entry Draft.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed due to team policy.

After being placed on the League’s Physically Unable to Perform List for the 2008 season, Conn returned from a knee injury to play 11 games for the Rock in 2009 netting 14 goals, assisting on 18 others while scooping 68 loose balls.

The Rock acquired Conn, formerly of the Arizona Sting, in the 2008 NLL Dispersal Draft on June 30, 2008. Conn was originally drafted by the Vancouver Ravens in 2003 (4th overall) and was acquired by the Sting in a trade with Minnesota midway through the 2005 season. The two-time NLL All-Star played in 36 career regular season games with Arizona and recorded 154 points (71 goals, 83 assists).

The 2009 NLL Entry Draft is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. ET.  The draft will be held in the 100 Level Harbour Club at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY. The event is closed to the public, but fans can follow the draft online at NLL.com.
