FORWARD JASON CROSBIE TO TAKE PART IN NLL ALL-STAR WEEKEND

The 2009 National Lacrosse League (NLL) All-Star Weekend will take place at Pepsi Center, home of Colorado Mammoth, in Denver, Colorado this weekend on March 6th & 7th.  Toronto Rock players Jason Crosbie and Cam Woods were selected last month to represent the Rock on the East Division team.

Toronto Rock points leader, Jason Crosbie, receives his first ever All-Star nod this year.  In his freshman year with Toronto, Crosbie has collected 36 points from 10 goals and 26 assists. His impressive start to the season gave Crosbie special consideration by league coaches during All-Star voting.

Cam Woods, who was also selected to make his fourth All-Star appearance (first as a Rock player) will be unable to attend the game this weekend due to an injury.

All-Star weekend will be highlighted on Saturday, March 7th with the NLL Hall of Fame luncheon held at The Ridgeline on the ADT Club Level at Pepsi Center. Former Toronto Rock captain, Jim Veltman, and Dallas Eliuk will be inducted as the class of 2009.

In his 16-year NLL career, Veltman played in 194 regular season games, banking 650 points from 157 goals and 493 assists. Nicknamed “Scoop“, the 12-time NLL All-Pro is the league`s all-time looseballs leader scooping up 2417 in his career.

At 9:00 p.m. EST on Saturday March 7th, Veltman and Eliuk will take spots behind the bench coaching the East and West Division All-Star teams, respectively.

Following the game, players will be available on the field for autographs. The Eastern and Western Division starting line-ups were determined by the combined votes of the league’s general managers, league media, and fans. All-Star team reserve players were chosen by the coaches of the 12 NLL teams.

All events for the NLL All-Star Game and Hall of Fame Ceremony to be broadcast online via the NLL Network at NLL.com all weekend, staring with the Skills Competition on Friday at 10pm Eastern.
