Jesse Gamble Named Transition Player Of The Week

Toronto – The National Lacrosse League has announced their players of the week and Rock transition player Jesse Gamble has been named the transition player of the week.  The weekly awards are determined by a vote of the league’s General Managers and Head Coaches.

Gamble has played a major role in the Rock’s transition game taking centre stage in many games this season.  In Friday’s 14-10 win over Colorado, Gamble scored the first hat-trick of his 2-year NLL career.  He completed the three-goal performance by cashing in on a penalty shot.

Gamble was selected in the second round of the 2011 NLL Entry Draft by the Rock and quickly earned a spot in Toronto’s lineup last season.  His performance to this point in the season has put him into the conversation as one of the best transition players in the game today.

Calgary’s Dane Dobbie was the offensive player of the week while the defensive player of the week went to Washington netminder Tyler Richards.  Colorado goaltender Tye Belanger was the rookie of the week.

Toronto will hit the road this weekend for a game in Philadelphia against the Wings at 1pm at the Wells Fargo Center.  The Rock will be back at home on Sunday, March 24th against Edmonton at 3pm at Air Canada Centre when it will be Toronto Sun Autograph Day.  For the best ticket in town, visit www.torontorock.com or call 416-596-3075.
