Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President, and GM Jamie Dawick announced today the signing of star forward Josh Dawick to a two-year agreement that runs through the 2026-27 season. The signing is pending league approval.
Dawick had a breakout season in 2024-25, leading the team in goals (42) and points (75). Both totals were career-highs for the 24-year-old Oakville, ON native who will turn 25 at the end of August.
About to enter his prime, Dawick certainly stepped up in the face of adversity last season. The Rock dealt with injuries to key forwards, namely Mark Matthews and Tom Schreiber, and Dawick delivered night in and night out scoring at least one goal in every one of the Rock’s 18 regular season games.
The crafty right-handed shooter scored four or more goals in a game three times last season. One of the most memorable big-goal games for Dawick was February 1 in Colorado when he notched the overtime winner just over six minutes into the extra frame to give the Rock the win.
On Tuesday, the NLL announced that the opening of free agency, originally schedule for August 1, would be delayed until August 15 as negotiations on a new CBA continue between the league and the NLLPA.
