Rock Raises $10,182 During Movember

Toronto – The Toronto Rock players, staff and fans raised $5,091 in support of the month long Movember campaign.  That number was doubled today when Rock Owner and President Jamie Dawick matched that amount with a donation of $5,091 to bring the official Toronto Rock Movember Team total to $10,182.

Toronto Rock fan Martin Wagget ended up bringing in the most individual donations overall as he raised $845.  Rock Movember Team Captain Josh Sanderson was the top fundraiser among the Rock players collecting $710.

“Thank you to the Rock family for stepping up,” remarked Dawick when speaking about the amount of support for the Rock Movember Team.  “Events and causes like these bring people together and the Rock lacrosse community should be very proud of the amount of money raised in the last month.”

On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words, they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

The Rock team was led by Movember Captain Josh Sanderson along with Mo Bros Kasey Beirnes, Matt Roik, Glen Bryan and Stephen Hoar.  The Toronto Rock would like to thank everyone who donated to the Rock Movember Team over the past month.
