Rock Will Be Without Pair Of Veterans To Begin Season

Jesse Gamble Will Not Play In 2017-18, Turner Evans Undergoes Surgery

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President and GM Jamie Dawick today announced two veteran players will be missing when the 2017-18 season begins on Friday, December 8 in Buffalo, NY against the Bandits.

Veteran defender Jesse Gamble will not play this season due to personal work commitments over the coming months. In light of this, the Rock have moved Gamble to the holdout list, which does make him eligible to play this season should there be an opportunity for him to return.

On the injury front, forward Turner Evans recently underwent knee surgery to repair an injury suffered at the end of last season. Evans will miss at least the first two months of the season and there is no timetable set for his return at this point.

2017 NLL Draft pick Zac Masson has also been moved to the Rock’s draft list. The 21-year old back-to-back Ontario Jr. A Lacrosse League Defender of the Year is attending the University of Alaska-Anchorage where he is a forward on the hockey team. The Rock selected Masson in the second round of this year’s draft, 18th overall.
