The National Lacrosse League will hold the 2007 Entry Draft at the Pepsi Center, home of the Colorado Mammoth in Denver Colorado on Saturday September 1st at 4:00 p.m. EST.
Fans can watch the draft online through a live free webcast at www.nll.com on any computer with a high-speed internet connection and Windows Media Player 9 or higher.
The July 31st trade between the Rock and Boston which brought Brian Croswell to Toronto in exchange for a third and a fifth round selection in the 2007 Entry Draft has been voided due to a season ending injury Brian sustained playing lacrosse this summer. As a result, the Rock take back these picks for Saturday’s draft.
The Toronto Rock will have five selections in this year’s draft:
First Round-11th overall
Second Round-7th selection (21st overall)
Third Round-7th selection (35th overall)
Fourth Round-7th selection (49th overall)
Fifth Round-7th selection (63rd overall)
With a new Boston franchise entering the League, putting the team count up to fourteen, the divisional alignment for the upcoming 2008 season results in Boston joining the Eastern Division for a total of eight teams and the West Division remains at six clubs. The 2008 NLL season schedule will be announced at a later date.
New for this year, the Entry Draft follows a combine for top draft-eligible players in North America on August 30th and 31st. The top prospects are invited to come out and participate in various physical tests, clinics and drills and a combine game as well as meet with coaches and GM’s from various teams in the League.
