TORONTO ROCK CHEERLEADER AUDITIONS SET FOR OCTOBER 25TH
Toronto Rock Athletic Centre Will Host Auditions

Oakville, ON – The Toronto Rock Cheerleaders will return for a fifth consecutive season to not only entertain fans at Air Canada Centre but also to continue their work in the community at promotional and charitable events.  On Sunday, October 25th you will have your chance to audition for the 2016 Toronto Rock Cheerleaders at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario.

With Paola Cimitan’s coaching retirement, the Rock will welcome a new head coach of the cheerleaders this season in long-time Rock cheerleader Krista Valadao.  Krista was a member of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders for the past four seasons and was a Toronto Argonauts Cheerleader prior to that.

“I’m so excited to be taking over this year as head coach,” said an enthusiastic Valadao.   “I’ve learned so much from Paola over the years and I can’t wait to pass on what I’ve learned to a new team of girls.  I’m looking forward to seeing both the new and returning faces at auditions and can’t wait to introduce the new team to our fans this season!”

Along with Valadao, the 2016 Toronto Rock Cheerleaders will be selected by a panel of judges including Toronto Rock Owner, President and GM Jamie Dawick, Rock forward Brett Hickey, Z103.5’s morning show host Scott Fox and TSN 1050’s morning man Mike Richards.

“For the girls auditioning this season, my number one expectation is a positive attitude,” explained the new coach.  “It will be a fun day and a great experience for everyone regardless of the outcome. I’m looking for girls who are eager to be part of the team and get involved with the Toronto Rock community.  Their dance ability is a key element, but what is most important is their energy and attitude at auditions.”

Auditions for the 2016 Toronto Rock Cheerleaders will be held on Sunday, October 25th from 9:30am to 3pm at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre located at 1132 Invicta Drive in Oakville.  You must be 19 years of age as of January 1st, 2016 to be eligible to audition.  For more information, including the application form, please visit www.torontorock.com.
