TORONTO ROCK RE-SIGN THREE PLAYERS FOR 2009

TORONTO – The Toronto Rock have signed Dan Ladouceur, Kasey Beirnes and Mike Attwood to return to the Rock roster for the 2009 season. Due to club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Veteran Rock defender, Dan Ladouceur will return to the line up for his 11th season with the Rock. Ladouceur has played his entire NLL career with the Toronto Rock including five Championship seasons.

“I am excited to be returning to play another season” said Ladouceur. “Management has worked hard in the off season to add pieces to our puzzle and I look forward to remaining active in the pursuit of another Championship.”

Mike Kloepfer, Director of Lacrosse Operations for the Toronto Rock is pleased to have Ladouceur on the roster this year. “It is good to have Dan return for his 11th season. His leadership and experience will be an asset in our club reaching its goals in ’09” he said.

Forward Kasey Beirnes also returns for his second season with the Rock in 2009. Beirnes, acquired by the Rock in 2007 in a trade with the Minnesota Swarm, tallied 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists) last year.

Among these transactions, the Rock also signed goaltender Mike Attwood to a one year deal. Having played with the Arizona Sting in 2007 and on the Rock practice roster for the 2008 season, Attwood was re-selected by the Rock in June during this summer’s NLL Dispersal Draft.
