Training Camp: Ins and Outs

Training Camp is Underway

Oakville, ON – The Toronto Rock will shape the 2024-25 team roster over the month of November by way of the most competitive training camp in recent memory.

The training camp roster consists of 38 players, far more than usual.  The battles aren’t just for roster spots, but also for playing time.  Teams dress 19 players for a regular season game, which includes two goaltenders.  When you start drilling down on the numbers to forwards, defenders, lefties, and righties, you can quickly identify where the battle lines are drawn.

ADDITIONS: F Sam English* (Draft), D Jake Darlison (Draft), D Alex Messier* (Draft), F Landen Sinfield (Draft), F Colton Armitage (Draft), F Connor Shellenberger* (Draft), D Ethan Fisher (Draft), D Elijah Gash (Dispersal Draft), G Dante Mancini (UFA), F Gavin Thibeault (UFA), F Luke Robinson (UFA), D Owen Hill (UFA), D Brooker Muir (UFA), F Sam Parent (UFA), D Eric Lemire (UFA)

*Placed on Draft List and will not participate in training camp.

SUBTRACTIONS: D Sheldon Burns (UFA), D Alex Kew (UFA – Signed with HFX), F Dan Lintner (UFA), D Brandon Slade (Trade ROCH)

The first two training camp sessions are scheduled to feature fully structured scrimmages with NLL officials on the floor and the roster being split into what amounts to almost two full teams.  Following Saturday’s opening day of camp, expect the competition to really intensify on Tuesday evening at 8pm when the group gathers again.

Following Tuesday’s session, the Rock will play the first of three exhibition games.  For the first time, all three Rock exhibition games will be streamed on the team’s YouTube Channel.

In addition to the Saturday exhibition games in November, the team will practice on Tuesdays at 8pm at the TRAC.  The team must cut down to their opening night roster by Monday, November 25.
