What to watch for vs. Calgary Roughnecks

Rock Looking To Get On A Roll!

Calgary, AB – The Toronto Rock (1-5) have headed west, looking for their second win of the season.  The opponent will be Canadian rivals, the Calgary Roughnecks (3-2).

Fans can watch the game vs. Calgary at 9:00pm ET on TSN.  Additionally the game is available on TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game on TSN+ or ESPN+, a paid subscription is required.

Here’s what to watch for in Friday’s matchup.

  • Following morning shoot around, the Rock made another significant roster move, placing Latrell Harris on the Active Roster. Harris missed all of last season recovering from a knee injury, but his return this season has been limited to just the season opener as he suffered another lower body injury, that was not related to his previous knee injury, which has forced him to miss the last five games.
  • To make room for Harris on the Active Roster, Brad Kri was moved to the Short Term Holdout List as he was unable to travel to Calgary this weekend as he begins his new career as a Firefighter in Toronto.
  • The Rock welcomed back Tom Schreiber and TD Ierlan to the lineup last week. The Man at the Dot won 61% of his faceoffs and Captain America scored 3 times and added 4 helpers for 7 points.
  • With TD Ierlan’s 14/23 performance at the dot last week vs. Saskatchewan, he passed Patrick Merrill (813) for the all-time lead in Rock faceoff wins. Ierlan has 818 FOW.
  • It’s the 41st matchup all-time between the two clubs.  The Rock hold the edge, winning 24 times to Calgary’s 16 wins.  It’s also an even split, the Rock are 12-8 both home and away against Calgary.
  • The Rock’s 0-5 start was the second worst in team history. An 0-6 start in 2016 was the worst.
  • Since returning from injury, Rock captain Challen Rogers has 9 points in 2 games.
  • INJURY REPORT: Mark Matthews is on the IR with an upper body injury and is out indefinitely.
  • The Rock will continue their two-game road trip with a game in Colorado next weekend against the Mammoth.

A new episode of the Toronto Rock Total Access Podcast is out now.  This week’s guest is ‘Big Shot’ Brian Cameron.  Listen to the show to get you ready for tonight’s game!
