What to watch for vs. Las Vegas Desert Dogs

Rock Win Will Lock In First Overall Pick

Henderson, NV – The Toronto Rock (5-9) are on the road to face the Las Vegas Desert Dogs (3-12) at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, NV.  With just four games left, the Rock must continue to win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.  Most notably, a Rock win will lock in the first overall pick for Toronto who own the Desert Dogs’ 2025 first round selection.

Fans can watch the game vs. Las Vegas at 5:00pm ET on TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game on TSN+ or ESPN+, a paid subscription is required.  Sign up for NLL+ and watch the game for FREE!

Here’s what to watch for in Sunday’s matchup.

  • The Rock and Desert Dogs have only met once, ever. Last season Toronto defeated Las Vegas by a score of 16-11.  Chris Boushy had a huge game, scoring 7 goals, 4 assists and 11 points.  The 7-goals equalled a single game career-high for Boushy.
  • Challen Rogers has been chasing this milestone for a while, but he’s just 2 goals shy of 100 for his career. He scored goal 98 in the Rock’s most recent outing, a win on March 22 vs. Philadelphia.
  • A win this afternoon would be the third of Rock goaltender Troy Holowchuk’s career. A third career win would see him take sole possession of 7th place on the franchise all-time wins last, breaking the tie with Steve Dietrich who also won twice as a Rock.  Only four goalies in team history have hit double-digits in career wins: Nick Rose 111, Bob Watson 105, Anthony Cosmo 13, Brandon Miller 12.
  • Brad Kri is 7 loose balls away from being just the second player in Rock history to hit the 1,000 mark. The other is Jim Veltman (1,958)
  • INJURY REPORT: Tom Schreiber (lower body), Robert Hudson (upper body), and TD Ierlan (upper body) are all on the IR and will not play this afternoon.
  • The Rock will return home when once again their season will be on the line against the Vancouver Warriors on Friday, April 11 which is Yacht Rock Night.
