What to watch for vs. San Diego Seals

Can the Rock make it four wins in a row?

Mississauga, ON – The Toronto Rock (3-5) host the San Diego Seals (3-5) in a matchup of two teams with identical records at Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga.  This will be a major swing game for both teams as there is a big difference between being 4-5 and 3-6.

Fans can watch the game vs. San Diego at 7:00pm ET on NLL+ for FREE.  Additionally fans can tune-in on TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game on TSN+ or ESPN+, a paid subscription is required.

Here’s what to watch for in Saturday’s matchup.

  • The Rock have played San Diego four times since the Seals entered the NLL in 2018-19. Twice home, and twice away and the Rock have won every single meeting to lead the all-time head-to-head matchup 4-0.
  • On Friday, the Rock placed star defender Brad Kri on the Active Roster from the Short Term Holdout List. Zack Kearney was moved to the Practice Roster.  Earlier in the week, the Rock released Aaron Woods from the Practice Roster to make room for the Kri/Kearney transaction.
  • Challen Rogers and Corey Small are both three goals away from career milestones. Small needs three for 400 career goals, while Rogers is three away from 100 career goals.
  • Tonight marks the first-time former Rock star forward Rob Hellyer will play against Toronto in Rock City. Hellyer was traded to Las Vegas in 2022 for two first round picks and played two seasons in Vegas before signing as a free agent with the Seals prior to this season.
  • After a 3-1 start, the Seals have lost their last three games to drop to 3-5 on the season. The Rock have won three in a row after starting 0-5.  Two teams currently heading in different directions.
  • While the Seals’ Ryan Benesch may have started his career playing for the Rock, he’s enjoyed a great deal of success against his former team. In 29 games, he’s scored 58 goals which is the 5th most of any player vs. Toronto in NLL history.  His 126 points is 7th best.
  • The Rock will continue their home stand next weekend when they welcome the Buffalo Bandits to Rock City on Friday, February 14th at Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga at 7pm.
