MATT SAWYER

Sawyer, 46, will enter his fifth season as Head Coach of the Toronto Rock in 2021-22. He has a record of 36-29 during his four seasons at the helm and guided the team to the NLL East Division Final in 2017 and 2019.

Hailing from Orangeville, Sawyer is a 3-time Minto Cup Canadian Jr. A Champion as a Head Coach and 2-time Minto winner as a player all with the Orangeville Northmen.

Previously, he served as an assistant coach in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto during his NLL coaching career which began in 2002. This is his second stint on the Rock bench as he was part of the 2005 championship Toronto Rock squad. He has also been a head coach in the NLL with the Boston Blazers in 2011.

Sawyer serves as the Head Coach of the Oakville Rock of Major Series Lacrosse during the summer.
