ROCK SIGN FOUR 2020 DRAFT PICKS

Toronto’s Top Pick TD Ierlan Moved To Draft List

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President and GM Jamie Dawick today announced the signing of four of the Rock’s 2020 NLL Draft Picks.  He also announced that the Rock’s top pick TD Ierlan (second round, 30th overall) has been moved to the Draft List as he will return to Yale University for a fifth year of NCAA eligibility.

Defenders Chris Weier, Curtis Romanchych, Daniel Balawejder and forward Scott Del Zotto have all signed one-year agreements.  The signings are pending league approval.

The signings mean all four players will move forward to compete for a spot at the Rock’s training camp which will begin approximately one month ahead of the start of the regular season.  That start date has yet to be determined.  Recently on the Toronto Rock Total Access podcast, Dawick had some words of advice for the Rock hopefuls about what they need to do in advance of training camp.

“You need to be in the best physical shape that you can possibly be in when you come in here, because if you’re not, you don’t stand a chance,” said Dawick.  “This isn’t summer ball, this isn’t Junior A, now you’re playing with the big boys and the best of the best.  There’s no place to hide out there.  If you can’t keep up with the endurance and the stamina and that part of the game, you have no chance.”

That leaves Phil Mazzuca as the lone player unsigned from the 2020 Rock draft class.
