Josh Jubenville Signs 1-Year Deal

October 22, 2019

ROCK INK JOSH JUBENVILLE TO 1-YEAR DEAL

Toronto Defender Could Have Major Impact As A Rookie

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President and GM Jamie Dawick announced today that defender Josh Jubenville has agreed to a one-year contract.  The signing is pending league approval.

Jubenville was selected by the Rock in the fourth round, 40th overall in the 2017 NLL Draft, however, the Windsor, ON native was attending Davenport University south of the border and was unable to commit to playing in the NLL.  The 23-year old versatile defender is now able to commit to playing full-time for the Rock, which is great news according to Dawick.

“We are looking forward to seeing what Josh can do at the NLL level,” said Dawick.  “Josh has a really great opportunity in front of him here to come in and make a real impact.  We’ve seen his game mature over the past couple of years and we think the ceiling is pretty high on Josh.”

Dawick’s excitement stems from watching Jubenville play over the last two summers for the Oakville Rock of Ontario’s Major Series Lacrosse.  He’s also been under the watchful eye of Rock Head Coach Matt Sawyer who also fills the same role with the Oakville MSL summer lacrosse club.

A steady defender, Jubenville also has a knack for pushing the ball in transition and chipping in with some offence.  His style of play fits perfectly with the type of game that Sawyer likes to play.

The Toronto Rock will open training camp on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, ON.
