ROCK ACQUIRE PAT McCREADY FROM BUFFALO BANDITS

The Toronto Rock have acquired forward Pat McCready and a third round selection in the 2009 Entry Draft from the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for a second round selection in the 2009 Entry Draft, a first round selection in the 2010 Entry Draft and second round selection in the 2011 Entry Draft.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The St.Catharines, ON native has spent the last eight seasons with the Bandits scoring 206 points (71 goals 135 assists) in 112 games.

“Patty is another huge team player,” said head coach Troy Cordingley.  “He leads by example and does whatever it takes to win. It could be scoring a goal, play tough, in your face defense or dropping the mitts when necessary.”

McCready also collected 990 loose balls with the Bandits, including a career-high and franchise record 173 in 2002 and won an NLL Championship with Buffalo in 2008.  He has 339 points (127 212) and 1,314 loose balls in 173 career games.

“Fans in toronto will love his work ethic,” added Cordingley.
