Oakville, ON – The Toronto Rock enter the 2024 NLL Playoffs as the number one seed after a 15-3 season that established a new franchise mark for wins in a season. The Rock will face the Rochester Knighthawks in the NLL Quarterfinals on Saturday, April 27 at 4:30pm at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, ON.
The playoff picture didn’t come into focus until the very last game of the 2023-24 regular season schedule with Rochester punching their ticket to the postseason on Sunday afternoon with a win over Philadelphia. The Knighthawks, who finished with an 8-10 record, ended up in a five-way tie for the 8th and final playoff position with Saskatchewan, New York, Vancouver, and Calgary. Rochester got the nod due to a .750 winning percentage in head-to-head games played among the tied teams.
The opening round of the NLL Playoffs are a single-elimination, one-game showdown. The winner of the NLL Quarterfinals game will move on to the NLL Semifinals and the loser’s season will come to an end.
The NLL Playoffs will follow a locked-in bracket style advancement. The winner of the Toronto (#1 seed) vs. Rochester (#8 seed) game will advance to a best-of-3 series against the winner of the Buffalo (#4 seed) vs. Georgia (#5 seed) matchup. The NLL Semifinals will begin the weekend of May 3-5.
